STEP 1. Make a plan
Springing can be a challenge whether your space is a tiny condo
or a massive office space. Like any project, make a plan and know where to
start.
Write a checklist of to-do’s or for the really big projects make a spreadsheet - whatever floats your boat! List every room in your space and the tasks that need to be done for each room.
STEP 2. De-clutter
Eliminate clutter. If you’re not in love with it or haven’t used it in 6 months to a year then it’s time to say good-bye! Take a few boxes and start designating objects that you don’t need to garage sale, donations, and garbage. For all you savers this can be a challenge but remember - Just let it go, I promise you will feel better getting rid of that pair of jeans that you haven’t worn since high school. And this makes room for the new seasons items that you know you need.
STEP 3. Clean the Nitty
Gritty
Avoid throwing all your junk in the closet or under the bed
- I’m sure there are a few of us that are guilty of that even now that were all
grown up!
Clean it. It’s really important to clean and organize the things that are out of sight. Springing is a great opportunity to get to the details. Organize closets, bathroom cabinets, drawers, kitchens, pantries and other storage areas like your shoe closet.

Key Tip - Organize
closet items like shoes, sweaters and tops by Colour – it makes it super easy
to pair out-fits when your closet is
colourized!
STEP 4. So long Winter!
Pack away your winter gear.
Smart Storage. Designate heavy sweaters, boots, and winter jackets in separate bins for next winter. Make sure to dry clean items, clean and treat leather goods and fold with care before placing them in storage. The plus side, you’ll have more room for spring items and new outfits for the warm season.
Key Tip - Place
tissue paper in between sweaters and delicate fabrics for protection. Also,
throw in a dryer sheet or two to keep items fresh until the fall.
STEP 5. Fresh spring air
RELAX! Your DONE Springing! We’ve been cooped up in doors for the long winter season so it’s time to let in the fresh air. Open a few windows in your space to re-circulate the air and let in that beautiful sunshine! It will definitely rejuvenate you!
Key Tip - We
recommend a glass of Oyster Bay from New Zealand a
Sauvignon Blac AOD favorite for
that celebratory review of your hard work.
